Sim Racing Glove Size and Fit

October 2026 · size charts as published, read 7 October 2026

Measure around the widest part of your hand, just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Hand circumference — in inches or centimetres — is the starting point for the SRG1 chart. Some brands also ask for hand length, from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.

Then check the chart of the brand you are buying. Sizes are not interchangeable between manufacturers. GCOM and Moradness give opposite advice for hands between sizes, while Sparco uses numbers rather than letters.

How to measure

  1. Use a soft tape measure. A tailor's tape, not a steel rule. A strip of paper works too: wrap it, mark it, then lay it against a ruler.
  2. Measure the circumference. Around the flat of your hand at its widest point, directly below the knuckles, thumb outside the loop. Snug, not tight.
  3. Measure the length if the brand asks for it. Hand flat, from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.
  4. Measure your dominant hand. Usually the larger of the two.
  5. Use the brand's own chart. There is no common standard across manufacturers.

GCOM SRG1 size chart

The SRG1 chart gives both hand circumference and length for each cuff version. The centimetre values below come from the manufacturer’s chart. Inches are calculated as cm ÷ 2.54 and displayed to one decimal place.

SRG1 short cuff

SizeHand circumferenceHand length
XS6.3–7.1 in (16–18 cm)6.7 in (17 cm)
S7.1–7.9 in (18–20 cm)7.1 in (18 cm)
M7.9–8.7 in (20–22 cm)7.5 in (19 cm)
L8.7–9.4 in (22–24 cm)7.9 in (20 cm)
XL9.4–10.2 in (24–26 cm)8.3 in (21 cm)

SRG1 long cuff

The long version runs about 1.5 sizes larger than the short one and needs its own chart.

SizeHand circumferenceHand length
XS7.5–8.3 in (19–21 cm)7.3 in (18.5 cm)
S8.3–9.1 in (21–23 cm)7.7 in (19.5 cm)
M9.1–9.8 in (23–25 cm)8.1 in (20.5 cm)
L9.8–10.6 in (25–27 cm)8.5 in (21.5 cm)
XL10.6–11.4 in (27–29 cm)8.9 in (22.5 cm)

If circumference and length point to different sizes, go by the circumference. At a shared boundary, choose the smaller size: exactly 18 cm is XS for the short version; exactly 21 cm is XS for the long version. The short chart covers 16–26 cm, and the long chart 19–29 cm; measurements outside those ranges do not produce a size recommendation.

Use the original measurement for this check, not a rounded inch label. Convert an inch measurement to centimetres by multiplying by 2.54, retaining all digits until the size has been selected. For example, 22 cm is M in the short chart, while a measurement of 8.7 in equals 22.098 cm and falls in L. The displayed 8.7 in boundary is rounded.

Between sizes, GCOM advises choosing the smaller one — the glove is meant to fit closely.

  • Sparco uses numbers rather than letters. Do not assume that size 8 corresponds to another brand’s M; use Sparco’s chart.
  • GCOM and Moradness give different advice. GCOM recommends the smaller size between two; Moradness recommends sizing up. Apply the rule for the glove you are buying.

How a sim racing glove should fit

Tight, but not compressing. The palm sits flat against your hand with no slack to bunch between skin and rim. You should be able to close your fist fully and open it without the fabric pulling at the fingertips.

No empty fingertips. A gap at the end of a finger is the clearest sign the glove is too big, and it costs you the feel through the rim you bought the glove for.

No pressure line across the knuckles. A pressure line suggests that the glove is too tight. Choose a fit that lets you move your fingers freely.

Do not rely on stretching or shrinking to correct a poor fit. Check the fit with your hand both open and gripping the rim.

Cuff length changes the size

A long cuff has to pass over the wrist, so the glove is cut differently. The SRG1 long runs about 1.5 sizes larger than the short — see the two charts above, and short cuff vs long cuff for which suits your rim.

Frequently asked

What size sim racing gloves do I need?

Measure your hand circumference below the knuckles with the thumb excluded, then match it to the brand's chart. For example, a hand circumference of 21 cm is size M in the short SRG1 chart. At shared boundaries, the smaller size applies.

How do I convert my hand measurement to inches?

Divide centimetres by 2.54 and round only the displayed result to one decimal place. A 22 cm circumference displays as 8.7 in. Keep the unrounded centimetre value when selecting a size.

I am between two sizes — up or down?

It depends on the brand. GCOM says take the smaller size; Moradness says size up because its fabric stretches less. Follow the maker of the glove you are buying.

Which brand has the widest size range?

FREEM, with 2XS to 3XL. F33L follows with XXS to XXL.

Why does Sparco use numbers?

Sparco sizes the Hypergrip 8 to 12 rather than S to XL. Use Sparco's own table; the numbers do not map to letter sizes from other brands.

Does the long SRG1 need a different size than the short one?

Yes. It runs about 1.5 sizes larger and has its own chart.
