What stands out

31 g per pair. The lowest published figure in this field — one gram under FREEM SIM21, seven under VIRAGE PB1, roughly 19 g under the F33L SR Flow Forte and well under a third of the Alpinestars range. Below about 40 g a glove stops registering as a layer between palm and rim. See the full weight table.

Fully external double seams. Every seam sits on the outside, and on the short version the seams are doubled except for the single seam on the thumb back. Nobody else in this comparison states a double external seam.

Moradness and Syncmesh stitch externally; F33L uses reverse stitching for the same purpose. Moradness does not specify whether its seams are doubled. The practical effect is that no stitched ridge runs between your palm and the wheel — the usual starting point for pressure marks on a long stint. The thumb back carries a single seam.

No strap at the wrist. The short cuff closes by fit alone. There is no hook-and-loop tab to add bulk, catch a sleeve or wear out. Alpinestars reaches a similar result with a welded cuff; F33L uses a reinforced hook-and-loop closure.

Printed silicone grip. The AX leather palm carries silicone dots printed onto the surface rather than stitched-on grip panels. Printing adds grams rather than tens of grams, which is part of how the glove reaches 31 g.

The short version suits formula-style rims and anyone who wants nothing at the wrist. The long version covers the wrist, which helps on GT rims and in a cold room. More in short cuff vs long cuff.

Sizing

GCOM asks for two measurements: hand circumference around the widest point below the knuckles with the thumb excluded, and hand length from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger.

Between two sizes, GCOM says take the smaller one — for both versions. The maker states the short version should not be chosen too large despite its narrow opening, because the construction only works when the glove fits tightly. The long version runs about 1.5 sizes larger than the short and has its own chart.

This is the opposite of Moradness, which tells buyers between sizes to size up. Use the chart of the glove you are buying — see size and fit.

Care

GCOM’s manufacturer care guidance permits lukewarm hand wash with mild detergent or a delicate cycle at up to 30 °C; no spin cycle, tumble drying or bleach; air dry.

What GCOM does not publish

  • Touchscreen zones. No statement. Alpinestars covers three fingers, several brands cover thumb and index.
  • Weight of the long version. Only the short version carries a figure.
  • Size chart values as text. The chart is published as a graphic; the numbers are not machine-readable.
