Sparco Hypergrip

October 2026 · values from the manufacturer, read 7 October 2026

The Sparco Hypergrip is the only glove in this comparison with foam padding in the palm. The palm combines micro-perforated microfibre, a rubber coating and padding — a construction aimed at cushioning rather than minimum thickness. It costs around €50.

What stands out

Padding in the palm. Most gloves in this field prioritise thinness; the GT Omega PRESA also has a padded palm. Sparco goes the other way and puts foam between your hand and the rim. On a strong direct drive base that transmits kerbs as sharp impulses, padding takes the edge off. It also puts more material between your fingers and the wheel, which is the trade-off: less direct feel.

Three layers doing three jobs. Micro-perforation for airflow, microfibre for the base, a rubber coating for grip. Combining a perforated surface with a rubber coating is unusual — perforation usually costs grip area, and the coating is how Sparco compensates. See gloves for sweaty hands.

Numeric sizing. Sparco sizes the Hypergrip 8 to 12 rather than S to XL — the only brand here to do so. A size 8 does not map to an M on another brand's chart, so measure and use Sparco's own table. See size and fit.

A motorsport name in the middle of the field. Around €50 places the Hypergrip below the SRG1 (€69) and Syncmesh (from €74.38), above GT Omega (£24.95) and Trak Racer (€35).

What Sparco does not publish

Sparco publishes no weight, no seam position and no care instructions; the price, cuff and size range above come from retailer listings rather than the manufacturer page.

The missing weight is particularly awkward for a padded glove, since padding is exactly what adds grams. Without a figure there is no way to place the Hypergrip against the 31 g SRG1 or the 32 g FREEM SIM21 — see lightest sim racing gloves.

Frequently asked

How much does the Sparco Hypergrip weigh?

Sparco does not publish a weight.

Is the Hypergrip padded?

Yes. The palm combines micro-perforated microfibre, a rubber coating and foam padding — the only palm explicitly described as foam-padded in this comparison.

What sizes are available?

Numeric sizes 8 to 12, according to retailer listings. They do not correspond to letter sizes from other brands.

Is it fire resistant?

No. The Hypergrip belongs to Sparco's gaming line. Sparco's FIA-rated gloves are separate products.

Does padding reduce wheel feel?

It puts more material between hand and rim than a single-layer palm does. Whether that is worth the cushioning depends on your wheel's torque and your session length.
